long legs

Jeff: I remember my shock when I first got off the bus in Killorglin…. The whole time I had been living in Galway, Ireland I had never seen anything that impressed me in the way of mountains. Not even the Connemara mountains had left the impression that the island could present any serious obstacle besides bad weather to a hiker. I was delusional. Here I was packed to the hilt with banjo, hiking bag, with a years worth of clothing inside, heavy books, and several pairs of shoes… Of course, the first thing I saw when I stepped off the bus was a giant mountain looming over the quaint Irish town, and the road I needed to take led straight over top. There was no turning back….
